Favourite Floral Inspired Accessories

This bag has given me some inspiration for my dress; I'm thinking of making flowers like this in a variety or sizes and colours and sewing them to the section of my dress where the fabric is gathered.

I was browsing for some inspiration and came across these, I thought they'd go really well with all ten outfits; something to bring them all together as a collection maybe.

Still Working On The Shape

Fresh Start

We started with a new, more exciting fabric straight away; a bright floral dress that was good fabric to work with. We all loved the asymmetrical neck line so much we decided to keep it, plus I thought it would maybe be quite flattering on myself since I'm the 'model' for the dress.

Also the folded edge on the neckline stayed to give it some detail. One thing added was a short sleeve, rather than have two bare arms, I think it's a nice touch.

To give the dress some real texture some simple gathering was added to the dress on the right side. This created some lovely drapes and folds at the back of the dress which gives it more texture and will  make the dress flow much better on the catwalk.

The Skirt

The skirt quickly became a massive problem, we pinned it in every way possible; pleats, ruffles, simple gathering, everything you can imagine. We tried it inside out and upside down, but soon ran out of motivation and got totally lost.

We asked a tutor for advice and she suggested scrapping the idea all together. Get rid of the top and skirt and start a fresh with new fabric.

First Attempt

We went for what we thought was 'the easy option' and picked a purple floral skirt, and a huge curtain with pink, blue and purple floral detail. Matching colours and lots of fabric to work with wasn't so easy after all.

To make the fabric more modern we folded the edge and gave it an asymmetrical neckline, we thought it was good look because its very on trend and extremely flattering. The skirt was left how it was given to us, and we planned on putting something underneath to give it volume. However we thought that look would be far too much like something from Cinderella and gave up on that idea.

What we have to work with..

Every kind of fabric, flower, pattern and colour possible.
